Okay, I know that this review is very late. I read this book months ago, I just never wrote the review. I felt bad. The book was not as good as I had been hoping.
I went into this book thinking it wouldn't be much more than a cute, fun little comedy novel. And it was, to some extent. Or at least, that's what it should have been. It was almost as if it was trying not to be that. As if it was trying to be a dramatic romance, full of lies, deception, and secrets. But it just wasn't. And it just didn't work.
In terms of the characters, they were the generic drama queens that a lot of these types of novels have (not all, there are a few gems). But they weren't quite as entertaining to read about as most of general fiction novels. They were definitely all unique, but almost a bit unique. They never (or at least that I can remember) did something that anyone in their right mind would do. They were not likeable at all. And I definitely did not enjoy reading about them. The plot got completely lost in the characters, and a few times I found myself having to remind myself of the storyline, and it was disappointing.
In all, it wasn't a very enjoyable read. I was annoyed at it at some times, I even found myself cringing. I'm sorry.
